About

My name is Kanak, and I am a third-year PhD student at the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Ahmedabad University. My research interest is broadly in the area of automorphic forms. More specifically, I am interested in examining Eisenstein series on symplectic groups of low rank, with emphasis on Siegel and Klingen Eisenstein series, their Fourier expansions, pullback constructions, and associated automorphic representations. I’m currently working under the supervision of Dr. Alok Shukla. Here’s a brief overview of my academic and professional journey so far:

In addition to the standard mathematical texts I am “required” to read for my PhD, I also enjoy reading literature around the themes of absurdism and existentialism. The Myth of Sisyphus (Albert Camus), The Metamorphosis (Franz Kafka), The Idiot (Fyodor Dostoevsky), and Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath), are amongst my favourite books I’ve read in the genre so far.
